13 of next season's 18 IndyCar races will air on the Versus cable channel.
The Indy 500 has aired on ABC since 1964, and will again next year. But ESPN, which had been broadcasting the other races, will pick just four, with the rest going to Versus.
Versus is available in 20-million fewer homes, but plans more pre-and-post-race coverage, and more features showing the drivers' personal sides.
ESPN will work with the IndyCar Series to determine which races it will air. The network says it hopes to use the 500 as a promotional tool for races as close to that time as possible.
Recently it was announced that Indy Racing would make a return to Toronto next year. The Toronto Indy is scheduled for July 12th at Exhibition Stadium. Another event will follow in Edmonton on July 26.
The deal with the three networks runs through 2018.
